Softchrome in-house Tinting System

This innovative patent-protected system was introduced in 1990 by Softchrome Inc in the USA and it has been available in the UK since 1991. Cantor & Nissel Limited now has exclusive distributorship rights for this system. The system can be used with most soft lens materials currently available provided there is some HEMA in the composition and it gives practitioners the benefit of being able to tint lenses which are often not available from the manufacturer in tinted form such as high plus, high minus and torics.
The system offers a choice of iris diameters and of clear and black pupil diameters as well as the facility of tinting iris and pupil areas the same colour. There are a range of dyes. A range of special effect designs can be supplied in addition if required.
Practitioners may choose to purchase a complete system which will tint nearly 5000 high water content lenses or approximately 1200 low water content lenses. The system contains the full range of dyes and the full range of patterns. There is also a 'starter kit' which offers the three basic dyes and the facility to tint with a clear pupil.
